Health tips to prevent asthma

If the diagnosis is still unclear, a Metacholintest can help prevent asthma. The test is that you inhale Metacholin, a sub dance that is used only for testing purposes (challenge test).

If you suffer from asthma, Metacholin causes a temporary measurable narrowing (spasticity) of the respiratory tract.

For most people, the treatment is is to avoid the triggering causes and to take the right medication. Identify the triggering factors and eliminate them by doing the following:
  • Avoid non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), if you are sensitive to Acetylsalizyl√§ure (ACE, such as aspirin ®)
  • Avoid preservatives like sulfites, which occur frequently in salads in restaurants and wines.
  • Regular dusting can help with a dust mask, cleaning and replacement of air filters, air conditioners and humidifiers as well as mite-safe mattresses and bedding. Some car models with air conditioning are already equipped with pollen filters.
  • Provide optimum humidity, which inhibits dust mites but also molds
  • Bronchial asthma: avoid the triggersWash your bedding every week at 60 °, in order to minimize the dust
Ask your doctor whether any of your drugs, which are not intended for the treatment of asthma, can be responsible for your asthma attacks
